I'm delighted that they're taking such a prominent role in the stories we've been given in-between DA:I and DA:D, and I hope it means they're allies or even companions in the latter. Second, and more importantly in my opinion, Viago and Teia giving hot goth energy is what I was led to believe in Tevinter Nights and I'm glad the artist delivered for this issue. It's clear they've decided to go back to DA:O dark fantasy roots, and we're gonna suffer. To everyone who will play DA:D, I vote we start a support group asap for the trauma we're going to experience next year.
The darkspawn has had plenty of time to search for the two remaining Archdemons. It also makes the theories about a new, double Blight, plausible. Eight to ten years sound like a way more credible timeline for things to turn this sour for Thedas. Since everything Bioware has published after Trespasser was set around 9:45, I assumed this comic was too, and that's why I was so critical of the amount of stuff they were trying to cram into the main storyline. The world has had eight years to spiral down to this nightmare situation, with monsters everywhere, the Antaam running havoc in the Imperium and in Antiva, and Venatori regaining a lot of power in the background. The action taking place an entire decade after Corypheus' defeat means everything that's happened ever since the end of Trespasser (i.e., two years after Cory was yeeted in the Fade, so 9:44) makes a lot more sense. The first paragraph of this review also mentions a piece of information that Bioware has given us outside of the story (i.e., the timeline), so if you want to only know about what is happening in the comic, skip this entirely.įirst and foremost, I retract my previous statement: it seems Bioware has made it official that this is happening in 9:52. Beware: light spoilers for Tevinter Nights because I'm basing some of my theories for the next issue on two of its short stories.
